Great news: WIPO and Harvard Law School are launching a new joint online course on patent law and global public health – https://lnkd.in/ektgy_3Z

Participants in the "PatentX" course will learn about how patent systems currently function throughout the world, and acquire analytical tools that enable them to apply, adjust, and supplement those systems to maximize their social benefits. Offered free-of-charge, the course will open for registration in October 2022.

IP is a powerful tool and needs knowledge and expertise to be wielded skillfully. The WIPO Academy, which is our training, education and skills development arm, trained 270,000 people from all over the world in the last 2 years. We are also broadening our courses beyond technical IP knowledge to practical IP skills, pioneering courses like IP for exporters, IP for mobile app developers and IP for Teachers of Youths, amongst others.

In order to scale up our programs and value add to more people in more areas, we need to find good partners. So I’m very pleased to share that we are partnering with Harvard Law School to bring this new course on IP and Global Public Health to the world.

I hope that this course will be helpful to all those who are grappling with this topical, impactful and complex issue.
