Yvon Bock is the Founder and CEO of the Singapore startup Hegen. As she makes clear in this video jointly produced by WIPO and the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS), intellectual property (IP) is critical to her business success.

As well as safeguarding products against potential imitators, IP protection has played an important role in developing Hegen’s trusted and recognizable brand, while helping open the door to global markets.

This journey from ideas to assets is the theme of the 2022 edition of Singapore IP Week, an agenda-setting gathering of thought leaders, heads of IP offices, IP experts and innovative companies in one of the world’s leading IP hubs.

In my IP Week participation, I look forward to addressing delegates on the state of global innovation in an ever-changing world and how the IP community can come together to strengthen the global IP ecosystem, bring IP closer to communities and ensure intangible assets bring value.

We are also pleased to be launching a new WIPO series of in-depth studies on the evolution of global innovation hotspots, including Singapore, and their integration into wider innovation networks, as well as revealing the winners of this year's WIPO-IPOS IP for Innovation Awards.
